La Fondation Frantz Fanon participe au Forum Social Mondial qui se tient cette année dans une capitale africaine chargée d’histoire. Ce Forum se déroule sur le continent de toutes les luttes, de tous les désenchantements mais aussi, aujourd’hui plus que jamais celui de tous les espoirs.
La liberté et l’émancipation des peuples qui constituent la substance vive de la pensée de Fanon et le sens de son combat restent pour beaucoup d’Africaines et d’Africains un idéal et un objectif. Dakar est donc le lieu et le Forum Social le moment d’affirmer avec force la volonté libératrice et de désaliénation exprimée par Frantz Fanon.
Si les indépendances inachevées et les nouvelles formes, encore plus perverses, de domination valident pour les jeunes générations les critiques de Fanon, le réveil des peuples et les formes nouvelles de résistance confirment sa vision humaniste et la pertinence de sa vision révolutionnaire et libératrice.
Deux Séminaires
1. Lundi 7 février (16-19heures)
L’actualité de la pensée de Fanon face aux nouvelles formes d’hégémonisme et de racisme.
La domination prend des formes nouvelles plus indirectes mais tout aussi préjudiciables à l’émancipation et au développement. Le discours colonial, entre racisme ouvert et déterminisme, retrouve une place de plus en plus agressive dans l’espace politique occidental. La pensée de Fanon et son œuvre sont plus que jamais actuelles pour décrypter et affronter les formes renouvelées de l’hégémonisme et du racisme.

2. Mardi 8 février (16-19heures)
Le panafricanisme 50 ans après les indépendances : Quel nouveau projet pour l’Afrique afin de contrer la mondialisation libérale ?
Tenter un bilan des différentes tentatives de construction de l’unité africaine, depuis la création de l’OUA jusqu’à la mise en place de l’Union Africaine ; et d’autre part, de lancer la réflexion sur la réinvention du panafricanisme dans un contexte nouveau celui de la mondialisation néolibérale.

FRANTZ FANON Foundation in the World Social Forum
Dakar 6 / 11 February 2011
The Frantz Fanon Foundation participates to the World Social Forum which will be hosted, this year, by Dakar, an African capital loaded with history. This Forum takes place on the continent of all battles, all disillusionments, but also, today more than ever, of all hopes.
The freedom and emancipation of the peoples, which constitutes the live substance of Fanon’s thinking and the meaning of his struggle, remain for many African men and women an ideal and a goal. Dakar is thus the place, and the Social Forum the moment to forcefully assert the liberating and desalinating views expressed by Frantz Fanon.
If the uncompleted independences and the new, more perverted, forms of domination validate for the new generations Fanon’s critical analysis, the awakening of the peoples and the new forms of resistance confirm his humanist vision and the relevance of his revolutionary and liberating vision.
Two seminars
1. Monday, February 7 ( 4-7 pm )
The relevance of the ideas of Fanon and new forms of hegemony and racism.
Domination is taking new and more indirect forms but is equally detrimental to the emancipation and development of the peoples. The colonial rhetoric, between determinism and open racism, finds an increasingly aggressive room in Western political space. Fanon’s thought and work are more present than ever to decipher and deal with the renewed forms of hegemony and racism.

2. Tuesday, February 8 (4-7 pm)
Pan-Africanism, 50 years after independence : Which new project for Africa to face neoliberal globalization ?
Try to get an overview of various attempts to build African unity since the establishment of OAU to the creation of the African Union, and secondly, to start thinking about the reinvention of Pan-Africanism in a new context of neoliberal globalization.
